Combining Like Terms

We used Algeblocks to demonstrate combining like terms via ETA Hand to Mind. First, we recreated the picture. Then, we categorized the pieces: x, y, and the constant. From there, we were able to simplify the expression.

Eliminate student struggle with concrete understanding with Algeblocks. Provide meaning to variables, combine like terms with understanding, use an area model to represent multiplying and factoring polynomials, and solve first- and second-, and third-degree equations.
